Feeling fed up & grateful at the same time

When someone reaches out for support, they don’t need to hear “do you know how  lucky you are? I am so grateful for everything I have in my life; a supportive & caring husband, 2 beautiful children & a loving home. So, is it possible to feel happy with your life & completely exhausted & fed up at the same time?
It most definitely is! The two CAN coexist & it’s ok to feel grateful yet still fed up. Feeling fed up, annoyed or frustrated doesn’t mean you are not grateful for all that you have.

HERE’S MY EXAMPLE

As most of you already know, I went through a really tough time to have my children. Things could have gone a completely different way for me & for them but they are here with me now & for that I will be forever grateful. However, there are days when I get so tired & frustrated & then start feeling guilty about it, which then makes me feel like I’m a rubbish mum & that I shouldn’t be complaining. I feel like I have no right to complain because of comments such as “do you know how lucky you are that you even have kids”.
“I sometimes forget that I’m a mum of 2, managing 2 medical conditions”.

I’ve recently been reminding myself that motherhood is exhausting. Sometimes we tend to forget about real life, especially when we watch other mums & their ‘reel life’ on social media. Seeing other mum journeys on Instagram, I sometimes forget that I’m a mum of 2, managing 2 medical conditions. Everyone’s journey is different, every mum & every child is different. You simply cannot compare.

HERE ARE SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN YOU FEEL FED UP & EXHAUSTED:
– It’s ok to not be ok
– Every ‘mum journey’ is different
– Motherhood is not a walk in the park, all mummies struggle at some point
– You shouldn’t feel guilty if you need a break to recover
– Health is wealth. Healthy mum = Happy family
– Focus on getting better so you can show up & give your child your 100%
– Just because you’re fed up it doesn’t mean you’re not grateful for the blessings in your life.

Feeling fed up from time to time is totally normal & you shouldn’t feel guilty about it. So, to all the Mummies who are struggling right now, don’t be so hard on yourselves. You’re doing an amazing job.
